Cop's son shot dead in St James attack while leaving Bible studies
The son of a Trelawny police corporal was last night shot dead in an attack along the Meadows of Irwin main road in St James while heading home from Bible studies.
It is reported that about 9.45 pm, the corporal arrived at the intersection of Tucker and Meadows of Irwin main roads to pick up his 16-year-old son, Mark Williams.
Williams, a student of Cornwall College, was about to enter his father's vehicle when explosions rang out from the rear of the vehicle.
It's reported that on hearing the explosions Williams ran.
The policeman, however, took evasive action and returned the fire causing the gunmen to flee.
But Williams had already received one shot to his chest.
He was taken to the Cornwall Region Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
