The public is being advised not to consume Portland's Best coconut water of sorrel juice.

The public is being warned against consuming drinks labelled as 'Portland’s Best', as the products have been found to be unsafe.

Portland’s Best sells coconut water, sorrel and other juices.

Public Relations and Advocate Officer at the North-East Regional Health Authority, Angenice Whyte, says during field operations, inspectors from the Portland Health Department came across the entity and found that it was not certified to conduct that kind of business.

Whyte says a series of inspections were carried out as well as the testing of the products.

She says the results show that the juices contained organisms above the normal safety limit.

According to Whyte, the facility has been closed and the public is being notified not to consume the products.
