Harold Malcolm appointed new High Commissioner Designate to Nigeria
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith has announced the appointment of Harold Malcolm as High Commissioner Designate to Nigeria.
“Mr Malcolm has demonstrated strong commitment to his country’s development and a keen understanding of international affairs. We are confident that he will serve his country well and further bolster the co-operation between Jamaica and Nigeria to the best of his abilities,” says Johnson Smith.
Malcolm, who will assume duty in February, is a trained lawyer having graduated with First Class Honours from the Norman Manley Law School in 2008.
A Chevening Scholar, Malcolm attended the London School of Economics and Political Science from 2009-2010, specialising in Human Rights Law.
He has worked mostly in education, lecturing in both law and English literature.
Jamaica and Nigeria have maintained friendly diplomatic relations since April 29, 1970.
