Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Homer Davis, says the police-military operation in the parish is needed to curb the crime problem in St James.

Mayor Davis is calling for residents and other stakeholders to support the crime-fighting measure.

He says Tuesday’s fatal shootings are another example of the lawlessness in St James, which he says has to be contained.

The Montego Bay mayor says he hopes the measure will put a serious dent in crime, particularly murders.
