Trauma team visits St Thomas school of six-year-old murder victim
A trauma team from the Ministry of Education this morning visited the Trinityville Primary School in St Thomas where students are mourning the death of their classmate who was one of three people murdered last week.
Six-year-old Odette Anderson was found dead alongside her mother and father in their one bedroom house in Georgia.
Speaking with The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre senior teacher at the school, Judene Johnson, described the atmosphere as sombre.
She says students and teachers alike are saddened by the news.
However, following a group session with Odette’s grade one, the trauma team lead and counsellor, Lavern Ross-Graham, said the students seem calm.
But, she says other students, who are from the community, may need more counselling sessions.
