INDECOM backs state of emergency in St James
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is giving its support to the decision by the Government to declare a State of Public Emergency in St James.
INDECOM says it is confident that the security forces will perform their duties within their own Use of Force Policies.
The oversight body says it is particularly pleased that members of the security forces have received refresher training in human rights and public engagement.
It says it anticipates the mutual cooperation with the members of the security forces as they work to restore order and public safety in St James.
