St James teen picked up in state of emergency operation charged for craft vendor's death

The St James police say they have charged a teenager for the shooting death of a craft vendor in Ironshore, St James two Sunday's ago.

The 18-year-old was among scores picked up last Thursday as part of the security forces operations under the state of public emergency in the parish.

He is scheduled to appear before the St James Family Court next week Thursday.

Thirty-three-year-old Koyodian Grant, otherwise called ‘Rasta’, of Lap Land, Catadupa, St James was shot and killed in Ironshore on Sunday, January 14.

Reports from the Coral Gardens Police are that Grant was standing along the roadway about 3:35 in the afternoon when he was pounced upon by the accused, who opened gunfire hitting him.

Grant was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
