Haitian to be sentenced on March 14 after entering guilty plea
A Haitian accused of having ganja weighing more than 1,600 pounds, plead guilty, when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court.
Luge Felix is to be sentenced on March 14 after being charged with illegal entry, possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and taking preparatory steps to export ganja.
When Felix appeared on January 23, before Parish Judge Grace Henry-McKenzie, he plead guilty and added that he was in Jamaica illegally for over a year before he was held.
The court heard that on October 8 last year the narcotics police conducted an operation in Hellshire St Catherine, during which a number of packages with compressed vegetable matter resembling ganja and weighing 1,604 pounds were found.
Felix was arrested by the police and was subsequently charged.
