US Secretary of State visiting Jamaica next month
United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is to travel to Jamaica next month.
An advisory from the US embassy in Kingston says he will arrive in Kingston on February 7.
He will meet with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson-Smith to discuss bilateral and regional security, energy efforts, and Jamaica’s successful economic reform efforts.
He’ll arrive in Jamaica after visiting Austin, Texas, and then to Mexico City, Mexico; Bariloche and Buenos Aires in Argentina; and Lima, Perú; Bogotá, Colombia.
The Secretary will engage with regional partners to promote a safe, prosperous, energy secure, and democratic hemisphere.
Throughout his travel, Secretary Tillerson will also advocate for increased regional attention to the crisis in Venezuela.
