Canadian couple killed in St Thomas to be flown home this week
The bodies of the elderly couple slain in St Thomas earlier this month should be back in Canada by Wednesday.
Eighty-one-year-old Melbourne Flake and his 70-year-old wife Etta were found murdered at their vacation home on January 9.
According to a report CBC report, the couple's daughter Laverne Francis said Jamaican officials released the bodies on Friday.
Francis said they now have the final paperwork and a postmortem report which will allow a Jamaican funeral home to begin preparing them to send the bodies to Canada.
The police are continuing their investigation but to date there has been no arrest.
Francis, however, said the police have strong leads.
She has also made the plea for Jamaica’s police to invite Interpol to the island so Canadian detectives can assist in the investigation.
