St Thomas police get motor vehicles and bicycles
The Ministry of National Security this morning handed over a batch of motor vehicles and bicycles to the St Thomas Police Division.
A total of six cars and four bicycles were presented and is to be distributed across various police stations in the parish.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, National Security Minister, Robert Montague, said each vehicle is fully equipped with trackers and sensors which will notify the police where the cars are located and alarm the Police High Command whenever they travel outside their designated jurisdiction.
Montague said the vehicles are also equipped with a system to record the speed of the vehicle.
It will also notify the police whenever the car is due to be serviced.
Superintendent in charge of the St Thomas Police, Marlene Wilson-Christie, expressed gratitude for the vehicles.
