West Indies Alumina Company (Windalco)has expressed its appreciation to 50 of its tenant farmers by gifting them with bags of fertiliser.

The company's acting Agriculture Director Maksym Losyev said the move was to recognise the men and women as responsible citizens.

"We are happy to not just give you fertiliser, but to extend our hand in partnership. When you fulfil your commitment to us, we will continue to provide the support you need."

Land restoration and tenant farm administrator Glaister Dunkley encouraged the farmers to maximise the opportunity available to them as tenant farmers. He emphasised that there is a great demand for land and the farmers have an advantage to be able to get and to make use of the company's lands.
