Policeman shot multiple times in attempted robbery in Portmore

A policeman is in hospital nursing gunshot wounds after being attacked in an attempted robbery in Newlands, Portmore, St Catherine last night.

The constable, who is attached to the Mobile Reserve, was shot reportedly in his hands, leg and abdomen.

It’s reported that about 11:30 last night, the policeman and friends were at a house when they were pounced upon by armed robbers.

The constable and one of the men ended up in a struggle.

During the fight, the man fired several shots hitting the policeman multiple times.

The others were not hurt.

The robbers then escaped and the police constable taken to hospital where he’s admitted.
