Five Costa Ricans among 11 charged in Westmoreland drug bust
Criminal charges have been filed against the five Costa Ricans and six Jamaicans who were allegedly held in a multimillion-dollar drug bust in Westmoreland earlier this week.
The police say all 11 have been charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja.
The police say four of the Costa Ricans have been charged with illegally entering the island.
All 11 are scheduled to appear before the Westmoreland Parish Court next Friday.
It's alleged that the men were held by the police while in the process of compressing and packaging approximately 1,000 pounds of ganja valued at $4 million.
