Security Minister schedules MoBay tour
The Minister of National Security Robert Montague is scheduled to tour sections of Montego Bay, St James today.
Among the areas he is expected to visit are Sam Sharpe Square, the Charles Gordon Market and the bus park
A record 335 persons were murdered in St James last year prompting the government to impose a public state of emergency across the parish last month.
Speaking to The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre ahead of the tour, Montague said he wants to hear from residents and business operators how they are being impacted by the enhanced security measures.
He says he wants to provide some motivation for members of the security forces carrying out the operations and reassure citizens that the security measures will give the social agencies the space to implement their programs.
