The sentencing of Odaine Keyes, the St Thomas man who earlier this month pleaded guilty to the Boxing Day 2016 murder of his girlfriend has been delayed.

The 31-year-old man was to be sentenced in the St Thomas Circuit Court today but the hearing was put off until April 27.

He has been remanded until the sentencing.

Keyes' girlfriend, 19-year-old Tashoy Barrett, was found with her throat slashed at the couple's home in the community of Arcadia.

Her body was found by friends who went in search of her after calls to her phone went unanswered.

A week later, Keyes, who been on the run, turned himself in to the police .
