Man charged with rape, murder of elderly St Thomas woman
A St Catherine man has been charged with the March 4 rape and murder of an elderly woman in Duckenfield, St Thomas.
Thirty-four-year-old Marlon Sinclair, a cane cutter of a Spanish Town address is to appear in the St Thomas Parish Court on Monday.
Sinclair was arrested by in Rocky Point, St Thomas on March 10, six days after 74-year-old shopkeeper Eugene James, who lived alone, was found by a neighbour with her hands bound, her mouth gagged and her throat slashed.
Her underwear was removed.
Her neighbour became suspicious after noticing that the front door to her house was opened so she went to check.
It's believed that the perpetrator gained access to the house through a window.
