Caribbean mayors to hold talks in JA

Mayors from across the region are expected to gather in Jamaica on Monday for the first-ever Caribbean Conference of Mayors.

The three-day meeting is scheduled to take place at the Regional Headquarters of the University of the West Indies in Mona under the theme: “Caribbean Cities: Honouring the Past, Embracing a Smart Future.”

The Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSMAC), which is hosting the conference, says it is geared towards building relationships and understanding among mayors and local government practitioners across the Caribbean.

The KSMAC says the deliberations during the conference will help to deepen understanding of the structures and systems within various Caribbean territories and provide the platform for grow for the various cities and townships.
