Fifty-two-year-old Kingston security guard Enos Smith yesterday pleaded guilty to the 2011 attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend in the Home Circuit Court and is to be sentenced on June 8.

The police had reported that on Saturday, September 10, 2011, Smith lured the woman to a lonely area in Hope Gardens, St. Andrew where he wrapped a piece of wire around her neck to strangle her to death.

During the ordeal, she became unconsciousness, but subsequently regained consciousness and sought help from a neighbour.

The Police were summoned and the injured woman was taken to hospital where she was admitted and treated.

After being on the run Smith was arrested on October 09, 2015 and was subsequently charged.
