The westbound lane of the Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard in the vicinity of the Caribbean Cement Company in east Kingston has been closed to vehicular traffic since 8 o' clock this morning.

In a release, Carib Cement said the section of the roadway will be closed until 5 p.m. to facilitate repairs to an overhead bridge that sustained damages to its structure.

Carib Cement says the eastbound lane will be open to two-way traffic to minimize disruptions during the closure.

The cement manufacturer says the police and the National Works Agency have granted permission for the closure and are
working closely with the company to reduce the impact on the motoring public.

Motorists are being urged to exercise caution when traversing the affected section of the roadway.
