JTA upset at delayed wage negotiations with HEART Trust/NTA
The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) is expressing disappointment at the failure of the HEART Trust/ NTA to begin negotiations on behalf of lecturers and instructors for the April 2017 to March 2019 contract period.
The JTA says it submitted its claim from December 2016 and had a clarification meeting in February 2017 and that since then there has been a delay in commencing the negotiations.
The Association is renewing its call for the commencement of the negotiations as a matter of urgency.
Additionally, it says it is strongly suggesting that islandwide consultations be held with staff who the JTA says are now restive.
