The St Thomas police are searching for a man who allegedly chopped another man to death after accusing him of having an affair with his girlfriend.

The deceased has been identified as 26-years-old Cleon Mullings, also known as Bad Ras, a cane cutter of Duckensfield in the parish.

It is reported that about 10 o'clock last night, Mullings was walking along a road in the community of Ivan Scheme in Duckensfield when he was approached by the man who accused him of having sex with his girlfriend.

The man then allegedly attacked Mullings with a machete.

Mullings ran, was chased, and was reportedly chopped several times.

He later collapsed in a nearby yard and his attacker escaped.

According to reports, the body of the deceased, which was clad in a striped shirt and a blue jeans pants, had chop wounds to the neck, back and to the left hand, which was partially severed.

A machete was reportedly found at the scene and another, which is believed to be the murder weapon, was found in an unoccupied house where the alleged attacker is suspected to live.

Both machetes were seized by the police.
