Dimitris Kosvogiannis, the former general manager of Melia Braco Village Resort in Trelawny, has been charged with fraud-related offences.

Kosvogiannis, who quit his job in May, is charged with obtaining credit by false pretense and breaches of the Revenue Administration Act.

A date is to be set for him to appear in court.

Kosvogiannis, who holds Jamaican, United States and Greek citizenships, was arrested on his return to the island on Monday at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston by financial crime investigators.

The police said the arrest resulted from an intense investigation into several fraudulent activities against the two major banking institutions.

Kosvogiannis is accused of acquiring several credit facilities from the banks using different Taxpayer Registration Numbers and names.

According to the police, the activities go back to 2010.
