Cop on corruption charges granted bail
Policeman Theodore Blake, who is charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act, was granted $300,000 bail with 1 to 2 sureties when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.
Bail was granted by parish judge Chester Crooks.
Blake, who is attached to the St Andrew South Division, was ordered to report to the Old Harbour Police station every Monday & Friday.
The bail application was made by his attorneys Don Foote and Able-Don Foote.
It is alleged that Blake solicited $8,000 from a motorist for the return of his vehicle documents.
His lawyers argued that no solicitation took place and that their client vehemently denies the allegations.
