New fraud-related charges have been laid against embattled attorney-at-law Jennifer Messado.

Messado was charged yesterday by investigators from the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) with forgery and obtaining money under false pretense

The police say the charges stem from an allegation that in June 2017 Messado prepared an Agreement of Sale for a property without the knowledge and consent of the owners.

It is further alleged that the attorney forged the signature of the mortgager to facilitate the fictitious transaction and collected US$150,000 as down payment for the prospective purchaser.

She is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, September 11.

She is currently before the court on similar fraud charges.
