Westmoreland wanted man killed in reported police shoot out

Donovan Roach, a man who was at the top of the police most wanted list in Westmoreland was shot and killed in a gun battle with cops yesterday.

Roach, more popularly known as Tim Roach was killed in Bethel Town during a reported shoot out with the police.

Head of the Westmoreland Police, Superintendent Gary McKenzie said Roach was wanted for a number of shooting incidents in the parish involving police personnel and civilians.

"We had warrants issued for his arrest for several shootings," McKenzie confirmed.

He said Roach was also wanted for rape and was a suspect in a case of murder.

McKenzie said, acting on information, a police team went to a dwelling house in Bethel Town shortly after 1 p. m. and was "confronted with gunfire."

He said the police returned the fire and later found Roach suffering from gunshot wounds.

A firearm was reportedly seized at the scene.
