Bail granted to St Elizabeth taxi driver charged with dangerous driving

St Elizabeth taxi operator David Samuels who is charged with causing death by careless driving was yesterday granted $150,000 bail with surety when he appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court in Black River.

Samuels, who is of Coke Drive in Santa Cruz in the parish, was ordered to return to court on December 10.

He was charged after his car collided with a motorcycle along the road last Friday, killing 25-year-old Shaneek Fagan and injuring a man.

Fagan was the pillion rider on the bike being driven by the man.

They were both thrown from the motorcycle on impact with Samuels' car.
