Canadian man charged over possession of $3M worth of cocaine

The police have charged Canadian, Jermaine Hudson, for breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act after he allegedly attempted to leave the island with $3 million worth of cocaine.

Hudson is charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 5.

The police report that last week Thursday afternoon Hudson arrived at the Sangster International Airport in St James and was in the process of checking in to board a flight to Toronto when he was interviewed and his luggage searched.

The police say during the search a number of packages containing cocaine weighing approximately five pounds were found.

He was then arrested.
