The Meteorological Service has issued a severe weather alert for all parishes from Sunday to Monday.

Tropical Storm Isaac is now located over the eastern Caribbean Sea and is forecast to move south of Jamaica on Sunday, as a Tropical Depression.

The Met Service says the system will produce significant rainfall across the island on Sunday through to early next week.

It says periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be very heavy at times, are forecast to affect most parishes.

Flash-flooding is likely over low-lying and flood-prone areas.

On Sunday alone there will be about two inches of rainfall.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise extreme caution as sea conditions will deteriorate and there will be thunderstorms and strong gusty winds as Isaac moves over the waters south of Jamaica.
