Additional roadworks are under way in the Barbican area in St Andrew, Prime Minister Andrew Holness said yesterday.

Speaking at a press conference at Jamaica House, Holness said that the government will be further widening the roadway up to Acadia Drive and installing traffic signals.

“Generally, ninety per cent of feedback we have gotten is positive on Barbican. There is more work to be done on Barbican, and that will make traffic flow in that area much easier,” Holness said.

Phase one of the Barbican Road project was completed in late May with the widening of the main road and traffic signals installed at a cost of US$4.4 million under the Major Infrastructure Development Programme (MIDP).
