The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) has served enforcement notices on Central Wastewater Treatment Company Limited and the National Water Commission to repair a broken sewer line in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew.

Untreated sewage is now impacting the area because of the damage to the sewerage network.

NEPA says it received a report about the issue and a team conducted a site visit and assessment on Tuesday.

Until the sewer line is repaired, the agency is encouraging the public to take precautions and stay away from the area as untreated sewage may pose a threat should persons become exposed to it.
