Man rescued from doomed ferry in Tanzania
The engineer onboard the ferry that capsized on Lake Victoria, in Tanzania, was rescued today, two days after the vessel capsized.
A report by the British Broadcasting Corporation described his condition as serious.
Authorities in Tanzania have also confirmed that the death toll from the disaster has surpassed 200.
Reports say the engineer survived thanks to an air pocket inside the MV Nyerere ferry.
The vessel overturned near Ukara Island on its way from Bugorora.
It reportedly tipped over when crowds on board moved to one side as the ferry docked.
