Who are you worshipping?

Mandeville, Manchester:

"Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour .9 'All this I will give you,' he said, 'if you will bow down and worship me'. Mathew 4:8-9

There is little to no restriction; you don't feel as if you are doing anything wrong - you go to church every week, so the few times you dabble in worldly pleasure do not count because your allegiance is to God.

But is it really?

According to Pastor Damian Chambers, without being present in each moment, it is very easy to stray from that which is true and right even in the smallest way and not recognise it.

"The Devil knows he has but a short time ... who deserves our worship? Who should we be worshipping? Who are we pledging our allegiance to?

"There is someone on this Earth who is competing with God for worship," Pastor Chambers explained.

He said that if the devil were feisty enough to approach God, it simply means he has come to all of us painting pictures of greener pastures to call our allegiance to him.

"From the time he fell, the Bible tells us that he is in pursuit of God's people. His greatest power is deception.

"Revelation tells us that there will come a time when the people will worship the dragon ..."

Chambers said the devil is in constant pursuit of God's people, but equally, God is fighting for his people and needs us to play our part.

"Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water' (Revelation 14:6)", said Chambers.

Chambers said for those who lacked knowledge of the things they were doing wrong and have been enlightened but choose to ignore correction, will face the consequences.
