Garrick among 280 cops promoted

Head of the police Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) Assistant Superintendent Dahlia Garrick is among 280 members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) who have been promoted.

Garrick has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent.

She is among 22 Assistant Superintendents who have moved up one rank.

The others include Gordon Ellison, head of the Constabulary Financial Unit, and Warren Williams, head of the Communication Forensic and Cyber Crimes Division.

A total of 79 Corporals were promoted to the rank of Sergeant while 179 Constables have been elevated to the rank of Corporal.

Sasha-Gay Mullings, the so-called ‘Face of the JCF’, is among the persons promoted to Corporal.

The promotions were announced yesterday and took effect December 1.

Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, in lauding the men and women who were promoted, noted that this was another phase in their career.

“Your talent and commitment is tremendous and with continuous self-improvement, there is little that can deter you from success. Keep doing you part to make the JCF ‘a force for good’,”Anderson said in a statement.
