That’s according to the latest statistics released by the Road Safety Unit in the Ministry of Transport, which show that 13 persons have died on the nation’s roadway since January 1.
This is a 35 per cent decrease when compared with the similar period last year.
The data from the Road Safety Unit shows that six motorcyclists, two private motor vehicle drivers and two private motor vehicle passengers are among the 13 persons killed in crashes so far this year.
Ninety-nine motorcyclists were killed in crashes last year.
According to the unit, 383 persons died on the nation’s roadways last year, the highest number in 15 years.
However, it has projected that this number will fall to 330 this year.
