Funeral for political historian Troy Caine set for February 2
The thanksgiving service for political historian Troy Caine has been set for February 2 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.
Caine, 71, died on January 10.
He was a member of the Board of Management of the National Library of Jamaica, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.
Caine was also a researcher, graphics consultant, calligrapher and designer.
He was born in Junction, St Elizabeth on December 7, 1947.
Caine has been a Gleaner columnist and radio commentator on political affairs and was a voice of authority especially at election time.
In 2011, he received the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) for his contribution to journalism in the field of culture, political history and thought and Jamaican literature.
