Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force escaped serious injury this afternoon after the service vehicle they were travelling in caught fire along a section of Industrial Terrace in downtown Kingston.

The vehicle, which is assigned to the Kingston Western Division, was parked adjacent to the entrance of the Tivoli Gardens High School when it caught fire.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened about 2:20 p.m.

The occupants escaped and the fire department was alerted.

A section of the road was cordoned off.
