Grace McLean now acting as PS in Education Ministry

Chief Education Officer Dr Grace McLean is now acting as the permanent secretary in the Education Ministry.

McLean assumed duties on Thursday after permanent secretary Dean-Roy Bernard was reassigned to the Finance Ministry as Director General.

The education ministry made the announcement in a statement this afternoon.

It did not  explain the reasons for Bernard’s reassignment.

However, the statement quoted Education Minister Ruel Reid as saying additional staff changes at the ministry will be announced soon.

In the meantime, Alando Terrelonge will have an expanded role as state minister for education.

He was transferred from the Culture and Sports Ministry to the Education Ministry on Thursday as part of several changes made by Prime Minister Andrew Holness to his executive.
