$20 million worth of cocaine seized at port in Kingston

The police are reporting the seizure of $20 million worth of cocaine at a port in Kingston.

They say the seizure was made during a joint operation conducted by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force Narcotics Division, Jamaica Defence Force Canine Unit and Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement team at Gordon Cay, Port Bustamante in Kingston on Friday.

According to the police, about 11:50 p.m a container was searched and four duffle bags containing 95 parcels of white powdery substance resembling cocaine were found.

The drug, which weighed 109.2 kg, has an estimated street value of $20 million.

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.
