The Ministry of Labour and Social Security is advising the public that a fake message about the Ministry’s programmes is being circulated on social media.

It explained that the fake message is asking persons to check an electronic list to see if they qualify for monetary disbursement.

The Ministry emphasised that it is not disbursing $280,000 to persons who worked between 1990 and 2019.

While the post displays the Ministry’s url - - the clickable link is a hoax.

The labour ministry said the message being circulated did not originate from the ministry and may have been developed to lure unsuspecting persons to a website that has the capability to steal personal information.

The public is being asked to ignore and discontinue sharing the message.
