Kingston records highest increase in major crimes

The parish of Kingston has recorded the highest rate of increase in major crimes since the start of the year, according to latest figures from the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

The statistics show that from January 1 to June 29, the three police divisions in Kingston recorded a total of 88 murders.

There were 88 shootings, 51 reported robberies and 33 reported cases of rape.

These compare to the 87 murders, 69 shootings, 61 robberies and 20 reported cases of rape recorded for the similar period last year.
