Man charged over gun seizure at St James grave digging

A man was arrested and charged following the seizure of a 9mm pistol and one 9mm round of ammunition in Barrett Town, St James.

Charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Eric White, farmer of a Manchester address and Vietnam district, Barrett Town in St James.

His court is being finalised.

The police report that about 4:25 p.m., a team on patrol went to a cemetery to disperse a large crowd gathered at a grave digging.

On the approach of the police, a man was seen acting in a manner which aroused their suspicion.

He was accosted, searched and the firearm and ammunition taken from his waistband.
