Five firearms seized at St James wharf

The St James police are reporting that five firearms along with 147 rounds of assorted ammunition were seized at the Seaboard wharf in the parish on Monday, January 18.

Seized were:

· One DT-15 assault rifle

· One Smith and Wesson M and P 15 assault rifle

· One Romanian Draco 7.62 assault rifle

· One Gen 4 Glock 19 pistol

· One .38 revolver

The police say 147 assorted rounds of ammunition were found in a refrigerator.

Reports are that about 3:28 p.m., employees at the wharf were conducting a routine scan when they observed a suspicious imagery.

The police were alerted and physical checks were made, resulting in the discovery of illegal weapons.

No one has yet been arrested for the seizure.

Investigations continue.
