Man in viral voicenote threatening ex-girlfriend charged
The man heard in a voicenote threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend has now been charged.
Charged with malicious communication and preventing a person from buying or selling is 46-year-old Peter Maye, a farmer of Hartlands District in St Catherine.
Maye was charged yesterday.
His court date is yet to be finalised.
The police report that the now-viral conversation transpired on Tuesday, March 30.
The police have launched an investigation into a viral voicenote where a man referred to as Peter threatened to kill his ex-lover. The @JamaicaConstab says death threats are serious and victims should report them to the nearest police station.

Reports are that about 8:20 p.m., Maye called the complainant, who is a vendor at the Ocho Rios Market in St Ann, via phone and made several threats to kill her.
The complainant became fearful for her life and as a result, had to stop going to the market.
The police got wind of the situation and carried out a swift and detailed investigation, which resulted in the woman being located and Maye being arrested on Saturday, April 2.
