'Twas a double celebration for the Francis brothers
Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer
It started at sister Dr Cherise Francis-Windle-Sterling's wedding to Jeffery Sterling in January, where brothers Chester Francis-Jackson and Paul-Navarro 'Che' Jackson - both Virgos - made a friendly wager about who could lose more weight before their birthdays, the downside being, the loser would be the one footing the bill for the party.
With Chester's birthday being on August 26 and Che's on September 2, they agreed on a joint birthday celebration for Saturday, August 30.
The two selected the perfect location, sister Cherise's Villa Victoria, at Bengal Estate, near Discovery Bay in St Ann.
A lover of white, those in attendance wore Chester's all-white signature colour at what turned out to be a fabulous party.
With Jacqui Tyson's From Thought To Finish, event planners extraordinaire, taking catering and event-planning honours, the event began at 3 p.m. and, by way past midnight, revellers who came from all across the globe were still partying up a storm on the villa's beach deck and Gazebo of Love.
In the end, it was really all about Paul-Navarro 'Che' Jackson, as it was the eve of his 40th and so, while it was a double birthday celebration, it was more about Che's 40th, and guests partied to music of the ages while sipping on champagne and feasting on a fare dubbed a taste of Jamaica (served in honour of the many overseas guests in attendance), to rave reviews all around.
