Known for her on-trend looks, it is no surprise media personality and model Amita Persaud-Webb has ventured into the world of fashion with her own creations. Eight months ago, Persaud-Webb launched her gladiator sandals line, APW Collection.

Those who know Persaud-Webb might be familiar with her love for shoes. She noted it is what makes her feel glamorous, no matter what the outfit. Her sandals were inspired by the lack of availability of gladiator sandals in Jamaica and how expensive they were. Adding also that, as a designer, you have more control over the product - style, colour and size.

The Brazilian Gennys, as she calls her designs, are available in two variations - the thigh high and rope-up - along with the original, are all made locally with vegan leather.

What's next for APW Collection? Production expansion. "At the moment, we are in the process of expanding our production, as we are not able to adequately meet all our demands. As a small business, we can only produce specific numbers. However, new designs and colours will be added eventually," Persaud-Webb shared with Outlook.

With a target market of anyone going for the streetwear style, APW Collection is currently sold locally and internationally.
