Planned by Lorraine Dobson, Brian 'Ribbi' Chung, Don Creary and a few other close friends, Phillip Paulwell showed us how to turn it up on Saturday, January 10, at Fort Charles in Port Royal. The black-and-white-themed fiesta for the minister of science, technology, energy and mining was a prequel to his actual birthday on January 14.

Looking nothing like the 53 years he was celebrating, Paulwell's boyish spirit showed through his light feet on the dance floor.

Guests enjoyed live entertainment, an unending open bar, and delectable cuisine by Ribbiz.

When it was time to cut the energy-inspired cake, Ashley Martin gave a beautiful rendition of That's What Friends Are For before Paulwell gave thanks to the women in his life. Among them were councillor for Port Royal, Lorraine Dobson, as well as other members of parliament and women who worked alongside him, and his beloved daughter, Terry-Ann. He cut the cake with a few of these lovely ladies.

It was then time to take to the dance floor and Paulwell and guests danced the night away under the stars.
