Jamaica, as a nation, has much to be thankful for as our culture has captivated the entire world as people from the four corners of the globe attempt to copy our dances, food, and language.

Tonight, the world will have a chance to envy our unique sense of fashion as Eleanor McKnight will step onto the BET Awards red carpet donning local threads from Kerry Kay's Boutique and Neahlis from House of Neahlis.

McKnight won an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to the 15th annual BET Awards being held at the Microsoft Theatre courtesy of Jamaica's leading cable provider, Flow, which has partnered with BET Networks for this once in a lifetime BET Experience. In addition to attending the awards show, McKnight will also be attending other select BET Experiences at LA LIVE weekend concerts, events, and after parties.

Hot on the heels of Caribbean FashionWeek, the Brand Jamaica fashion flag is being flown high and McKnight is all too thrilled to be a part of this process. She revealed to Outlook in a recent interview that she doesn't know what to wear and will have to consult with her friends regarding her wardrobe choices for the awards. "I'm not a partygoer, I'm not a fashionista. I'm really out of it, so I really needed the help," she said laughing. Flow teamed up with a local glam squad for an ultimate red carpet makeover for her red-carpet debut.

While many celebs and specially invited guests, when asked, "Who are you wearing?" will be uttering the likes of Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, et al, McKnight has decided to look local and see the exquisite and fine creations from designers such as Kerry Kay and Neahlis to rock the red carpet, building on the legacy of past Jamaican designers such as Francis Keane, Anne Lopez and Femheka's Raxann Chin.

"I am really happy that Eleanor decided to 'rock' a local design on the red carpet. She is making a bold statement to the world that Jamaican fashion is right on par with the international stage," says Kerry Kay.

In recent times, we've seen a few of our local celebrities such as Lisa Hanna, Kaci Fennell and Yendi Phillipps following this trend, wearing locally made threads to several notable local and international events. This has definitely put the spotlight on us as Brand Jamaica.

McKnight has narrowed down her choices to six fabulous looks. Find out which one she rocks on the red carpet in tomorrow's Something Extra!
