In celebration of all things Jamaican, Indigo Soul has launched its brand new Emancipendence line in correlation with this year's patriotic festivities.

Indigo Soul, designed by Paula Hurlock, is a clothing line which focuses on the passion behind the creative elements of fashion and dismisses the idea of following trends.

"Emancipendence is the celebration of our Jamaican culture in a more modern way," explained Hurlock.

She explained that times have changed and persons are shifting from the traditional ways of celebrating their Jamaican heritage.

"Back in the day, during this time we would be focused on creating Festival songs and dances. Now, we are more party-oriented, and Jamaicans coming back to the countryduring this time want to enjoy days by the beach and a nightlife filled with partying and enjoying themselves," said Hurlock. This was the inspiration for the line which displays incredible versatility by being able to transition between the two.

The bright and vibrant pieces are not your typical cookie-cutter beach cover-up. They consist of chiffon pieces adorned with pure lace, which makes every item one of a kind.

"Persons should be able to dress them down while relaxing on the beach, or put them on with a nice pair of heels for a night out on the town," said Hurlock.
