Dream House | Simply fantastic
T his is no architectural phantasm! The captivating piece of prized real estate does exist. Time to unmask its presence among us so that we, with bated breath, can enter its outermost corridors of contentment.
To say the house is nice-looking means you need to see your optician. To make the point that the house has some expensive finishes, is being a little modest. To describe the views as great, is for want of a better description; and to say that the house is large, is an understatement.
This monument of architectural excellence is an extraordinary interrelation of traditional and modern architectural lines, with elegant, sophisticated, interior living and dining pavilions flowing effortlessly into each other – all on four lush acres, crowning the crest of a hill, dominated by phenomenal, omnipresent mountain and sea vistas.
The villa outside of Montego Bay, with its 15,000-square foot, split, triple-level floor plan, stands out with an entryway, five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms – opening to private balconies and terraces. The master suite entices with his-and-hers open showers (no glass, no curtains); double sinks and dual showerheads; an outdoor shower and, wow, its very own, private, heated, infinity plunge pool.
There is the fully equipped fitness room with steam room; games room with pool table; media room; study; chef’s kitchen with built-in appliances; and a granite wet bar which will have you mixing away. The main entertainment terrace provides access to the poolside lounge areas, while the others serve indoor areas.
Outdoors incorporate more pools (can you believe it!), with a heated infinity swimming pool (with floating bridge).
A large whirlpool spa; a separate children’s heated wading pool; a separate infinity lap pool (for exercise); and a water wall, spilling over into its own trough, really blows your mind! A poolside dining gazebo blends in with a wet bar. The property is also developed with its own impressive helicopter pad! Be ready to be airborne, wherever and whenever you desire.
Ceiling fans and air conditioning cools while piped music is everywhere and Bluetooth iPod docks are thoughtfully incorporated all over; along with Sirius satellite radio. Floors are of travertine (like marble), and bedroom ‘accent’ walls with lively colours, coordinate with pillows, cushions, and bedspreads. Granite converge with mahogany for many surface finishes.
Its construction took approximately two years, and was completed in 2007. The American owners from Detroit, Michigan, enjoy a lot of time here. They had always wanted a home in the Caribbean, and Jamaica, in the end, endeared itself to them, over the other islands.
Let me warmly introduce you to Oliver Isaac (a retired businessman of the auto industry) and his wife, Lolita (a retired school teacher). They both agree that living in this dream house is a “positive, enjoyable experience”. What a house!
